By July 13, 2023No Comments

Happy Global Lifting Awareness Day! This annual event is an opportunity to raise awareness of best safety practices in various lifting industries around the world.

By participating in GLAD, you can help to make the lifting industry a safer place for everyone. Check out the three ideas below to get started.

1. Attend a Safety Training Course
The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) offers a variety of online and in-person training courses on lifting safety. They will be hosting a new online training course (Supporting Structures (SUP)) and an Accredited Training Scheme Webinar.

Additionally, they will be hosting an end-user webinar focused on lifting in the nuclear sector from 10 to 11 (BST) today. Check out their website to learn more about each.

2. Review Safety Literature, Demos, and Other Content
If you’re interested in learning more about the dangers of side pulling, best practices when lifting loads, or systems that can help detect excessive side pull, we have several items available for your consideration:

3. Talk to Your Co-workers About Safe Lifting Practices
One of the best ways to promote safe lifting is to talk about it with your co-workers. Share what you’ve learned from training courses or from reading safety literature and encourage them to follow safe lifting procedures at all times. You can also easily engage with others online by using the hashtag #GLAD on social media.

Global Lifting Awareness Day is a great opportunity to learn more about safe lifting practices and to promote these practices to others. By participating in GLAD, you can help to make the lifting industry a safer place for everyone.
