Laser-View Technologies has retrofitted automated plating lines with Dimetix laser sensors to detect bridge position. Traditional methods use encoders and proximity sensors directly in the path of caustic fumes, and as a result, maintenance costs and extended downtimes are prevalent.
Dimetix long range lasers distributed by Laser-View Technologies are the sensor of choice for automated plating lines. The image shows a basket handling system over an automatic E-coat production line for automotive components.
The basket handling trolley position is determined using a Dimetix laser distance sensor. This project required sensors that were fast, accurate, and stable – over approximately a 50-100 ft range.
Laser-View Technologies can place the laser sensor in an explosion proof enclosure and mount it on the trolley or on a wall away from the hazardous area.
