Laser-View Technologies’ Crane Sentry® Hoist Side Pull detection system is relatively simple to use on hoists with fixed ends or equalizers at the top sheave, under the trolley. But some cranes have an equalizer mounted at the lower block. Traditionally, this has been a challenging application to work with.
However, a crane services provider was able to successfully mount our Crane Sentry® Hoist Side Pull sensor on the wire rope near the equalizer at the lower block. The controller was also mounted on the lower block and control signals were sent via cable reel to the hoist controls. Despite this typically being a challenging area to mount the sensor, the client was very pleased with the performance and reliability of our system.
