Measuring Hoist Height with Laser Sensors

By January 7, 2021No Comments

Laser sensors are often overlooked as a method of measuring hoist height on overhead cranes and gantries. Laser distance sensors are a viable alternative to encoders in situations where there is an under hook die handler, rotating load block, or target above the load block.

A natural steel surface is all that is needed because Dimetix AG lasers do not require special target surfaces. Reading the laser distance provides infinite control of hoist height.
