DIS Sensors produces non-contact tilt switches and sensors for heavy mobile equipment. One special application that has been implemented using a tilt sensor is cutting off fuel and power when a tip-over occurs.
Normally, DIS tilt switches operate by providing a positive output when the sensor indicates a safe operating zone and drops out when it is not safe to operate. The standard sensor will automatically reset.
A special version of this sensor provides a delayed reset or never will reset, affording the equipment builder the ability to permanently cut fuel and power in the case of an accident.
